Recent International Awards(Indira Gandhi Peace, World Statesmen, Compassion Awards)

  • Indira Gandhi Peace Prize-2010:
    President of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was selected for prestigious Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development of 2010. Lula has been selected by an international jury chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, mainly for eliminating hunger and promoting inclusive growth in his country, his advocacy for strong ties among the developing countries to the cause of India-Brazil partnership.

    Previous International personalities who won this award are  Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina (2009), former International Atomic Energy Agency President Chairmen Mohamed ElBaradei (2008) and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (2007).

    Lal Bahadur Shastri Award-2010:
    Political and Social Activist Aruna Roy has been given the Lal Bahadur Shastri Award for Excellence in Public Administration, Academia and Management.

    World Statesmen Award-2010:
    Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been honoured with the World Statesmen Award, 2010.

    World Compassion Award:
    Animal rights crusader Maneka Gandhi presented the Shinning World’s Compassion Award along with a cheque for 20,000 dollars from Supreme Master Ching Hai Inernational Association in New Delhi.
